Priorities/Goals

v     Establish permanent Practice fields to preserve the Football/Athletic Field.

v     Resurface and correct the drainage problems on the Football/Athletic Field.

v     Expand the small weight room to accommodate sports players as well as fitness students.

v     Completely rebuild Football Locker Room, public bathrooms and concession areas due to unacceptable conditions, i.e.:

·        Toilets setting in open view, one next to the other with no wall separating them.

·        No sink in restroom area

·        Large whole in the concrete wall.

·        Cracked and leaking floors.

·        Opposing team has no facilities. (They are asked to use the 40  year old public bathrooms that are low functioning and unsightly.)

v     A new entrance  designed and built to welcome our community and our teams.  Wrought Iron fencing would be installed to give the Facility a new updated appearance.

v     An area for Handicap accessibility for bleachers, concessions and restrooms.

v     Designated Student bleachers in the in-zone.

v     These items could be completed with the assistance of a Construction Consulting Team that will be put into place in the near future.   This would help keep cost down and provided an avenue of community commitment.   The committee will designate an individual to work directly with the Facility Manager.

These suggested improvements would be paid for by allocated facility funds committed by the School Board as well as additional funds secured through a Marketing Strategy developed by our Operation Restoration Committee.  We are working closely with individuals and organizations throughout the county to help assist us in this endeavor.  We have currently applied for a $50,000. NFL grant as well as an additional project grant from Duke Energy.   We will reach out to individuals, area businesses and organizations that have already pledged their support.
